About this event

Join UC San Diego OASIS Triton Underground Scholars and Playwrights Project for Beyond Sentences , a powerful theatrical production exploring the pathways to incarceration, the realities of confinement, and the challenges and triumphs of returning home.

Developed by Playwrights Project's Returned Writers Circle, Beyond Sentences features a series of vignettes highlighting the experiences and perspectives of individuals impacted by the criminal justice system. The production includes works by writers currently incarcerated at Centinela and Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facilities, formerly incarcerated writers, and teens studying criminal justice.

Through storytelling and performance, this event invites audiences to reflect on justice, rehabilitation, resilience, and the importance of amplifying voices too often excluded from public conversations.
