Good morning, San Marcos.
🏛️ Government
Federal funding for key infrastructure projects in North County was cut when Congress passed a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown—delaying planned improvements.
Congressman Mike Levin said he will resubmit the funding requests next year so the projects can move forward.
Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer asked the county to use its reserves for affordable homes, a public bank, and a new managed care plan during her State of the County Address on April 16th at the San Diego Natural History Museum—she also proposed a $10 million matching fund—saying the county must step in as federal help fades.
