East County Supervisor Joel Anderson is considering a run for county treasurer-tax collector after former treasurer Dan McAllister left the post and he recused himself from appointment discussions to keep the process fair.
Anderson, who holds a finance degree and is interested in local tax policy, will consult community leaders and decide by early next year—his decision could trigger a special election if he wins.
