- ➤ United Airlines will return to McClellan-Palomar Airport next spring, restoring regional service to North County for the first time in a decade. The carrier will offer twice-daily flights from Carlsbad to Denver and San Francisco using Embraer E175 jets (operated by SkyWest Airlines). The Coast News Group
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Palomar Health’s board approved a joint powers authority with UCSD Health on Oct. 21 to help stabilize finances and expand care for district residents—this agreement moves less than half of the district’s assets and establishes a $50 million credit line. Final approval from the state health agency is expected within 90 days. The Coast News Group
- ➤ Palomar Health and UCSD Health have agreed to form a joint powers authority to help stabilize hospital funds and expand services in North County amid financial pressures. Palomar Health’s CEO Diane Hansen will lead the new agency, which must get state approval before it begins operations. Voice of San Diego
