GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ North County Transit District faces challenges fueling its zero-emission buses because importing hydrogen from 100 miles away makes it costly and limits operations, which may force future service cuts. The district is building its own fueling station with state and federal funds to switch to cheaper liquefied hydrogen in early 2026—this could allow all 35 buses to run. Voice of San Diego
- ➤ The North County Transit District began using hydrogen buses to meet a state rule but each bus costs over $2,000 to fuel—about 10 times the cost of natural gas. Government officials say these high fuel costs may force a cut in bus service in the near future as they work on a new fueling station to lower expenses. Voice of San Diego
