California Native Plant Landscaper Certification (CNPLC)

About this event

The Theodore Payne Foundation is bringing the California Native Plant Landscaper Certification (CNPLC) back to San Diego. Developed by the California Native Plant Society and the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants, this 20-hour vocational training program helps landscape professionals and aspiring professionals build practical skills for working with California native plants.

The course includes online evening classes and a hands-on practicum at Mission Trails Regional Park.

Topics include native plant care, soils, irrigation, design, integrated pest management, pruning, and implementation, with a focus on resource-efficient, ecologically sound landscaping practices.

This is a valuable opportunity for landscapers, garden maintenance professionals, designers, educators, and others interested in sustainable native plant landscaping.
