About this event

Fall is the best time to get California natives in the ground!

Knowing what to plant in your area is key to success. Karin Zirk, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Friends of Rose Creek and tech guru will share three of the popular native plant databases that you can find online and that are free.

This presentation will include a brief overview of how to use three of the most popular native plant databases to learn about the plants that grow natively in your area.

These free tools will help new and experienced gardeners find the right plants for their location and landscape goals.

From planting guides to obscure research, these databases provide a fascinating look at the biodiversity of California and allow gardeners to incorporate biodiversity into their gardens.

Meetings take place at UC San Diego’s Henter Education Center in Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve.
