Aerial Lyra (Hoop)

About this event

The Lyra is a steel hoop that is suspended from the rig. It is both an art form and an amazing and fun way to exercise. This class is designed for those new to Lyra but requires the ability to pull yourself up, prior Aerial experience is highly recommended. This class includes a warm-up, conditioning, strength training, and stretching. It is tailored to beginners and will focus on proper body positioning, muscle usage, basic positions, and basic balances alongside various techniques to enter and exit the hoop. Over time, you will learn how to move from different positions with grace and ease while gaining strength and control. It is important to wear clothing that covers the backs of your knees and under your arms. You will want a shirt that can be tucked in to give your back protection. Long stretch pants or footless tights and a tight-fitting top are suggested. Tighter-fitting clothing that gives you a full range of motion is best. Shorts are not recommended since the back of your knees will be on the bar, and loose clothing may get in the way. LEVEL: Intermediate - Advanced (Aerial Class Experience Highly Recommended). * * *
