About this event

Join us for a collaboration between the San Diego Bird Alliance and the Friends of Rose Creek as we explore the birds of the Rose Creek Salt Marsh and upstream habitat.

Kyle will be our guide. No birding experience required. We will have binoculars available for use during the walk thanks to the San Diego Bird Alliance.

We are grateful for our partnership with the San Diego Bird Alliance. Their grant funders need to know money is being well-spent. You can help with this effort by pre-registering online or registering at the event the day of.

Stay for as long or as short as you wish. We usually have the best bird sightings around sunset, which today will be at 4:48 PM.

This bird stroll is on mostly level ground, often paved and suitable for all ages. Unfortunately, the entire walk is not wheelchair accessible. If you or someone who wants to attend uses a wheelchair, please message us for how you can join for the wheelchair friendly stretch of the walk, which is the bulk of the walk.

*** Rain cancels. Drizzle we may continue***

Do not turn onto Lee Street! Please check the posted directions carefully. The entrance to the correct parking lot has large "Construction Entrance" signs. Turn in here.

High tide will be at 10:41 AM and the low at 7:01 PM so we will be trending towards low tide during our walk. Sunset will be at 4:48 PM. We usually have the best bird sightings closer to sunset.

As of October 23, some of the snow birds are back in town. We have seen Northern pintails and American wigeons plus a huge increase in the number of American Coots. The number of species and individuals is on the upswing so November’s walk should be outstanding.
